Collection Flax / Vlas
This collection is called 'Flax / Vlas' after the materials used for the outfits of this men's mini collection: the raw Flax fibre and its textile product Linen.
Flax is one of the oldest sources used as a material for garments. Linen cloth has been used for clothing before the introduction of silk and later cotton and (half) sythetics. Flax is a very strong fibre. To me, because of its firmness, it feels like paper to work with. I was honoured to have been selected by Fashion Clash Maastricht 2011 to present firstly the collection at this fashion art event.
